My interest in photography began in my teens, but the prohibitive costs of film photography meant that I was never able to make it more than a hobby. As digital technology has made significant advances and become more economical, I've renewed my enthusiasm for photography and I'm working hard to build a career in this field.

With the purcahse of my first SLR camera in November 2007, I leapt out into the world and began taking photos of anything that caught my attention. Completely self-taught but gifted with a great eye and an unusual perspective, I pride myself on taking photos that don't resemble the cookie cutter approach of traditional photography. If you want the classic family portrait with Mother in a chair, Dad standing behind with a hand on her shoulder and the kids and dog sitting at their feet, all with cheesy grins, look elsewhere! Or come to me, but be prepared to be a bit ironic about it...

I'm a part-time professional photographer who believes that professional photography tends to be unnecessarily expensive. A portrait session with traditional pros will set you back a huge amount of money, at the end of which you will be offered a handful of prints at another enormous price. My philosophy is that photography needs to move on into the digital age - if it doesn't cost as much to take a photo as it used to, why should it cost so much to buy one? So when you hire me, you pay for the time it takes me to shoot and process the images, and then they're yours to enjoy. There are no extra costs, and the only restrictions are that you not use the image for any commercial purpose.
